Remember Social Distancing.
As we begin recovering from COVID, the new normal might be continued social distancing. While outdoor movie events are a great way to accomplish this distancing, a drive-in takes it a step further allowing everyone to stay in their car. Drive-ins let you get out with the entire family and enjoy a movie while listening to it on your cars radio–all while staying safely separated from other people in their vehicles.
Choose the right Venue.
When considering a drive-in, it’s important to remember that venue is everything. You will be dealing with 50 to 500 cars and you need to keep that in mind when picking the size of the venue. Parking lots are great locations but as you can see in the picture above, a field is just as good. No matter where you pick to have your drive-in, make sure there is adequate room for cars to enter and exit at any time during your movie event.
Pick the best screen size for the number of cars.
Drive-ins are different than regular outdoor movie events where people choose where to sit in front of the screen. Cars and SUV’s can be 6 feet wide and 15 feet long. This means you can only get so many in front of a screen allowing for space between rows for adequate room to exit. ALWAYS ask for the viewable size of the screen to ensure you are getting the correct size. To accommodate, this Premiere offers
3 Drive-in packages
with screens from 30 feet to 52 feet. Unfortunately, smaller screens will not be large enough for all cars to have an adequate view.
Not just for movies.
Drive-ins which are typically used to show movies can also be utilized for Graduations, Church services, Weddings, Corporate events or any event where social distancing is a factor. We have the ability to show anything you need on the screen from live video to PowerPoint presentations.
Consider Multiple events.
If your venue is not large enough for the number of cars you expect, consider having multiple events so that all of your guests will have the opportunity to attend. Using our 30-foot airscreen might allow you to stay in budget while offering multiple dates and more programming.
The Takeaway.
It's magical watching a movie outside in your car. It is almost impossible to find these drive-ins any more–but Premiere makes it possible to bring them to your location.
Outdoor movie events on our other screens still allow you to get outside and distance responsibly from others, so they make for a perfect outdoor event. Parks and Recs, graduations, school movie nights, birthday parties, reunions, live TV events, barbecues, big games—there are plenty of occasions where an outdoor movie screen rental can make your event special.
